I collaborated with fashion student Sandra Keenan on a Chinese theme project, producing a ying yang print for her trouser suit. The ties were on the pinboard above my desk: influenced by the Beatles and the fashion of the time, I designed patterened fabric for shirts and ties and to display them I pinned them onto heads I'd painted in the style of Hockney and Bacon.
