Modelling

Like lots of small girls I loved to dress up and clothes have remained a passion for me. Whilst my grandmother was a dressmaker, specialising in wedding and bridesmaid dresses, and I have vivid memories of her house full of beautiful satins and nets, my mother also knitted and made clothes.

Zandra Rhodes, a student in the year above me at the Royal College of Art, was very ambitious and determined to have her own business. I did fittings and modelled for her and Sylvia Ayton's first collection in 1966.
